July 14, 2006: Two Australian photographers feature in a new website set up to showcase the work of photographers from the Asia Pacific region who use Nikon equipment. The “Discover Nikon” online gallery showcases the work of 48 photographers in slideshow presentations spread across a 12-month period and labeled Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (with timing based on Northern Hemisphere seasons). Magazine photographer, David Dare Parker, was selected as the first Australian photographer to participate in the gallery, while Mark Watson, one of Australia’s foremost adventure sports photographers was the second. The gallery allows visitors to explore a selection of recent images from each photographer and provides information on major awards, exhibitions, tips and tricks – as well as collections from the photographer’s biography. Camera settings and information used to produce their images can be found from the Image Information control. The gallery is supported by local Nikon distributor, Maxwell Optical Industries.
