May 10, 2006: L&P Photographics in Sydney has organised two training sessions on key aspects of professional digital photography.
The first session, on Thursday 18 May, focuses on PhaseOne’s Capture One raw workflow software and how to maximise the benefits of the software by using its latest features. The second session, on Thursday 25 May, is presented by Derek Mobbs, Sales Engineer for Epson Australia, and will focus on colour management and digital printing. Its objective will be to show photographers how to achieve the best possible results from Epson printers.
As a key member of Epson’s technical team, Derek Mobbs analyses printing hardware and software before it reaches the market and is an expert in Epson’s Pro Graphics printers and software. He is also a photo retoucher for several noted wedding and portrait photographers. Topics to be covered during the evening include printing raw files, 16-bit vs 8-bit printing, ppi and dpi differences, colour management, B&W printing, scanners, Epson inks, printing to Epson printers and Photoshop tips and tricks. There will also be a demonstration of page proofing. Both sessions run from 6.30 to 9.30 pm and attract a fee of $49. They will be held at L&P Photographics, 96 Reserve Road, Artarmon.
