Nikon has announced the ongoing development of the Nikkor Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ, a standard zoom lens that is compatible with full-frame/FX-format Z-mount cameras.

The new lens will be welcomed by videographers as it is designed to provide ease of use and superior optical performance for video recording and appears to include geared focus, zoom and aperture rings that will make carrying out managed focus and zoom pulls more precise.  Few details have been disclosed but the published prototype image shows a removable, rotatable tripod collar and LFn button. The gold mount ring and lettering suggest it launches a new series of lenses. No information has been provided so far with respect to the actual launch date, pricing or availability.

We’ll keep you posted on future developments.
