May 2, 2008: Australia’s professional graphic designers and publishers will have rare access to international experts at the first international Photoshop LIVE conference to be held in Melbourne in August at RMIT’s Storey Hall in Melbourne.
The conference brings seven of the world’s leading Photoshop experts to Melbourne to present a three-day program covering video workflows, mobile, typography, digital photography, image retouching and colour management. The conference kicks off on Wednesday, 29 August with a full day of tutorials tailored to three different key subject areas. Photography delegates can experience a professional photography shoot from start to finish, while designers can take a production-oriented ‘tour’ of Illustrator or spend a fast-paced day plumbing the depths of InDesign document construction.

The remaining days are taken up with Creative Suite LIVE, which is scheduled for Thursday 28 and Friday 29 August and covers the entire Creative Suite of products. Designers of print-based, web, mobile, XML and cross-media solutions are all catered for in this in-depth program. A final Q&A session brings delegates together to discuss issues related to their work.
In a new Australian partnership, the week-long event will culminate with the Create:Awards, a design industry gala event to be held on Friday 29 August. Full delegate registration includes entry to the awards night, where winners in 11 categories will each receive $3,000. A further $5,000 prize will go to the ‘Creative of the Year’.
