A collaboration between Metro Screen, the ACP and UNSW Art & Design has developed a free event showcasing the creative past and present of the Sydney suburb of Paddington.
Creative Paddington will take place on Saturday, 7 March, 2015, with a full day of activities that include exhibitions from leading Australian and International artists, a pop-up cinema, photographic tours and a create-your-own DIY camera obscura demonstration. Interactive children’s workshops include chalking, filmmaking, instant photos and face painting. In addition, the Paddington Art Markets will set up along Victoria Barracks.
The featured topic of the day in panel discussions is ‘Art in the Digital World‘ where high profile artists, writers, photographers, film and TV professionals will discuss their practice and its digital evolution. Kate Jinx””National Film Editor for The Thousands, and Director of Programming at Golden Age Cinema””will host the event. Several panellists will also join the discussion, including Editor of Photofile and Art Monthly, Michael Fitzgerald; TV industry veteran and Metro Screen Board Member, Chris Winter; and photomedia artist and UNSW Art & Design Alumna, Izabela Pluta.
