More than one million flowers, 192 portable planter boxes and thousands of lights are being assembled for the annual Floriade festival in Canberra, which opens on 17 September.
This year’s display is expected to be biggest and best yet and will provide plenty of interest for photographers.
Highlights include The Floral Emporium, which will feature bold, playful and unorthodox floral displays as well as entertainment and workshops and the NightFest, Floriade’s after-dark extravaganza, which will illuminate Commonwealth Park from Wednesday, 28 September to Sunday, 2 October.
Live music, comedy, activities for the kids and a dogs’ day out will round out the program.
More information and the full schedule of activities are available via the Floriade website.
