September 8, 2011: The latest version of Corel’s popular photo editing software is now available, offering faster performance plus more than 75 new and enhanced features.
The HDR module has been redesigned to provide better tools for image merging, including built-in presets to get users started and the option to process large batches of HDR exposure brackets quickly. A new Photo Blend tool extends creative composition options by enabling users to easily select people, objects or areas from a series of images and combine them in a single shot.
The Fill Light tool lets users bring out underexposed areas without affecting the overall brightness of images, while the Clarity tool makes it easy to enhance subtle yet important details. The new Selective Focus tool provides depth-of-field control, while the Vignette tool enables users to apply a soft, faded border around the outer edge of photos.
The workspace has been redesigned with tabs to enable users to move easily between photo workflows. Tabs are provided for the Manage, Adjust and Edit workspaces and user interface updates are available from all tabs. Other new features include the ability to access the organiser in all workspaces, dual monitor support for enhanced efficiency, additional Adjustment layers, an updated Curves dialog, easy-to-read Histogram tools and enhanced metadata support. Corel PaintShop Pro X4 is available now in markets worldwide in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Traditional Chinese and Polish with additional languages to follow. Australian pricing is $99 for the full version and $69 for upgrade customers. Commercial and education volume licenses are also available.
