Corel has unveiled the latest version of its Paint Shop Pro image editor and Photo Album 6, the first new versions to be released since Corel’s acquisition of Jasc in October 2004.

September 9, 2005: Corel has unveiled the latest version of its Paint Shop Pro image editor and Photo Album 6, the first new versions to be released since Corel’s acquisition of Jasc in October 2004.
Paint Shop Pro X features a redesigned user interface with a new, integrated Learning Centre and Browser palette. Where tools are arranged. It also includes a Smart Photo Fix function that analyses an image and suggests settings to auto-correct colour, brightness, sharpness, and saturation. Users can combine automatic corrections with manual adjustments to achieve the results than Object Remover that can eliminate unwanted elements from photos, filling in the resulting gaps with appropriate background detail. Black-and-white tools include infrared simulation and colour toning filtration. The full version sells for $US129 and includes Corel Photo Album 6 – Standard Edition, Pixmantec RawShooter essentials, two hours of free lynda.com video instruction and a printed user manual.
Corel Photo Album 6 – Deluxe Edition is available for $US49 and includes PhotoRecovery software ($US29 value), Xtras Scrapbook Templates, Volumes I and II ($US40 value), Pixmantec RawShooter essentials and a printed user guide.
