February 15, 2007: Queensland-based colour-management specialist, Cielab, has set up a website containing free reference material and small ø¢â‚¬Å“on-line lessonsø¢â‚¬ on colour management for printers, designers and digital photographers.

The site, www.cielab.com.au provides information about colour conversions, profiling, RIPs and software, printing and lamination. It also offers advice on sound environmental practices in the printing industry, including the importance of recycling cartridges, using inks with non-damaging solvents and eliminating wastage. A brief FAQ page is also provided, along with a glossary of common printing terms.

Cielab will shortly add an online store to its existing consultancy business. It recently added Apple computers and software to its existing portfolio, which includes X-rite measurement equipment (previously Gretag Macbeth), GMG and Onyx RIP software and Pantone colour guides. Based in Brisbane, the company has agents in NSW, with agreements soon to be in place with a network of agents across Australia. The company can be contacted by phoning (07) 3353 1178 or via email through sales@cielab.com.au.
