August 7, 2005: Casio has extended its Exilim camera range with the unveiling of four new models, the 7.2-megapixel EX-Z120, 6-megapixel EX-Z110 and 5-megapixel EX-Z10 and EX-Z500.
All models are scheduled for release in the lead-in to Christmas and all feature Casio’s Exilim Engine image processing. The EX-Z120, EX-Z110 and EX-Z10 models come with a new Anti Shake DSP function, which minimises blurring caused by camera shake and subject movement. They also feature 3x optical zoom lenses plus large (2-inch) LDC screens and optical viewfinders. Direct On buttons are provided to ensure fast start-up times and quick photo viewing and a handy mode dial allows users to switch between still shooting modes (program AE. A, S and M) and playback. The EX-Z120’s scene menu includes 32 selectable settings, while the EX-Z110 and EX-Z10 have 28 settings. All three models are powered by two AA alkaline, nickel-cadmium, or lithium batteries.
Casio’s new EX-Z500 is powered by a proprietary Super Life lithium-ion rechargeable battery that allows the camera to take up to 500 shots on a single charge. Designed for ease of use, it has a large, high-resolution 2.7-inch TFT colour LCD display and retractable 3x optical zoom lens but no viewfinder.

Other features include the new Exilim Engine plus Anti Shake DSP processing plus an AF-assist light for fast focusing in dim lighting. The zoom lever and shutter release are combined to allow users to shoot quickly and a Direct On button ensures fast start-up times and quick playback of shots. A special “Flash Assist” mode compensates for poorly illuminated areas in shots and the 31 BestShot scenes include “Anti Shake” and “High Sensitivity” settings. The camera comes with a USB cradle that doubles as a battery charger. Supplied software includes Photo Loader for easy transfer of images to a computer.
The new cameras are scheduled for worldwide release from September. For details of local release dates, pricing and stockists, visit www.hagemeyer.com.au.
