August 26, 2008: Two new models have been added to Canon’s Selphy portable photo printer line-up, the Selphy ES 3 and the Selphy ES30.
Designed to provide simple at-home printing for families, the new Selphy printers use dye-sublimation technology and offer a maximum resolution of 300 x 600 dpi. Photos print in approximately 55 seconds and users can choose to make postcard prints, photo stickers and wallet-sized prints. An easy-to-install combined paper and ink cassette allows even the youngest of family members to load, lock and print photos easily. This combined coloured ink and paper cassette features an overcoat layer that prevents fading of colours caused by ultraviolet light, gas and other environmental factors. When sealed in an album, prints should last more than 100 years.

The Selphy ES3 has a 3.5-inch screen and large internal memory.
The Selphy ES3 features an internal memory that can now store approximately 1,000 photos. A reprint mode allows users to store approximately 100 images then preview and edit for optimal results on a 3.5 inch LCD screen. New cartridges, which support gold and silver printing, make a greater variety of prints possible and turn your favourite photos into presents. The SELPHY ES3 can also print photos directly from compatible mobile phones, using either built-in infrared connectivity or the optional Bluetooth adaptor.

Both models feature an improved control panel ad both allow users to preview edited images – with added effects. Users can add up to 50 clip art items to each picture before printing. Both models are scheduled to go on sale in October, with the ES3 model priced at under $300 and the ES30 below $200. For more information, visit www.canon.com.au.
