April 10, 2007: Canon has updated the special website dedicated to the Picture Style image adjustment system, which is built into many of its latest cameras.
Picture Style provides in-camera adjustments for many parameters that were previously only adjustable through the Parameters and Colour Matrix settings. However, with Picture Style, greater levels of refinement have been provided and the settings are easier and more intuitive to use. Setting the optimal Picture style is like selecting the best film and processing combination for the subject because it sets the digital data at the point of capture so that minimal subsequent adjustments are required. Users can also define their own Picture Styles for greater flexibility and functionality.
Picture Styles can also be used for raw file processing and the latest edition of Canon’s Digital Photo Professional and EOS Utility software can work with a wide range of Canon cameras to apply Picture Style adjustments. Pixma Pro printers can also work with Picture Styles for both computer-based and direct printing. The updated website can be found at http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/picturestyle/index.html. Canon has also updated its EOS World website.
