June 17, 2010: Canon has revised its Canon Professional Services (CPS) after-sales support system for professional photographers, providing improved benefits for existing CPS members and introducing a ø¢â‚¬ËœSilver’ membership level for EOS 5-series users.
Re-designed following extensive consultation with the CPS community, the new program will offer more value and benefits to qualifying professional photographers nationally. It will also allow more professional photographers to qualify for the benefits of CPS support. New members will be able to apply via a more straightforward application process.
CPS Gold membership is available to professional photographers using at least one EOS 1D-series professional digital camera body and one EOS 5D-series body (or higher) along with a minimum of three Canon L-series lenses. An annual subscription fee of AUD $100 applies for new memberships and future membership renewals. Benefits include:
– 5 free sensor cleans per year (normally charged at $50 per clean)
– 72 hour in-house turnaround on repairs (from day of arrival at Canon Customer Care service centre)
– 30% discount on genuine Canon parts and Canon Customer Care service labour
– Replacement loan equipment during repairs (subject to availability)
– Pre-purchase product evaluation (up to 3 day evaluation per product per year subject to availability)

CPS Silver membership is now available to support professional photographers using at least two EOS 5D-series camera bodies and two Canon L-series lenses. An annual subscription fee of AUD $75 applies. Benefits include:
– 3 free sensor cleans per year (normally charged at $50 per clean)
– 5 day in-house turnaround on repairs (from day of arrival at Canon Customer Care service centre)
– 20% discount on Canon Customer Care service labour
– Replacement loan equipment during repairs (subject to availability)
– Pre-purchase product evaluation (up to 3 day evaluation per product per year subject to availability)

CPS membership is only available to photographers who generate a majority of their income from photography and operate through a registered business. Their equipment must be purchased from an authorised Canon Pro Dealer in Australia or New Zealand.
New CPS members can register their Canon equipment through www.canon.com.au/cps. The appropriate level of membership will be assigned depending on the number of qualifying bodies and lenses registered with CPS. The new CPS system will expand into New Zealand in the coming months. For more information, visit the CPS site or call the dedicated CPS hotline support on 1800 804 240.
