August 16, 2010: Canon has released details of its new PIXMA MG6150 and MG8150 consumer photo and document printers that will go on sale in October.
Designed for home users, the new models are equipped with Canon’s new Intelligent Touch System interface plus the new Full High Definition (HD) Movie Print function, which allows users to print still frames from full HD movies. With Canon’s Intelligent Touch System only the necessary keys on the operation panel light up to guide users; with power off, no operation keys (except the Power key) are seen on the printer’s top cover.
Both models are ready to use straight out of the box and both are Wi-Fi Certified, enabling fast, PC-FREE printing from anywhere in the house, inside or out. They also come with the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX function that allows photos from devices like the Apple iPhone and iPod touch to be printed wirelessly. Both models have a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi and can create a 4 x 6 inch borderless print in approximately 20 seconds.

This model also has a 3.5-inch colour TFT screen, while the MG6150 has a 3-inch monitor. Both models use a 6-colour ink system with individual cartridges of long-lasting ChromaLife 100+ inks. It includes a pure grey ink cartridge for high-quality printing of B&W photographs.
