Equipped with an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC image processor, the EOS M10 is equipped with Canon’s Hybrid CMOS AF II autofocusing system, which has phase detection pixels embedded in the imaging sensor and 49 sensor points that can lock-in accurately when shooting both still pictures and movie clips. Continuous autofocusing ensures subjects are sharp under varying shooting conditions. Like its predecessors, the EOS M10 has no viewfinder but features a tilting 3-inch touch-screen monitor with minimalistic controls and customisable menus that enable users to tailor the camera to their needs. Tilting the screen up through 180 degrees automatically launches Self Portrait Mode.

A special Creative Assist Mode is available for less experienced photographers, with the most commonly changed settings explained in way everyone can understand. A front dial provides quick access to advanced settings, including aperture and shutter speed for more experienced users. Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC make it easy to transfer photos and movies directly from the camera to cloud services, including irista from Canon. Wireless Remote Shooting with full manual control is available via the EOS Canon Camera Connect app.

The EOS M10 body measures 108 x 66.6 x 35mm and weighs approximately 301 grams with battery and memory card installed. Its LP-E12 battery is CIPA rated for approximately 255 shots/charge.

The new EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens covers a focal length range equivalent to 24-72mm in 35mm format and includes a 3.5 stop Optical Image Stabiliser plus STM (stepping motor) technology for smooth and near silent focusing while recording movie clips. The new lens measures 60.9 x 44.5 mm and weighs 130 grams. It accepts 49 mm filters.
