September 3, 2008: Registration for Canon’s Photo5 photography competition kicks off on Friday 5 September and runs until the end of the month – unless all places have been taken.
The competition, which is now in its second year, challenges photographers to produce interesting and creative images with five everyday objects. Anyone in Australia can register, receive a box of five everyday objects, transform them through photography into inspiring images and upload to the Photo5 site. Last year only 2,500 places were available; this year the competition has been extended to 10,000 places. Entries in last year’s competition can be viewed at http://www.canon.com.au/photo5/.
This year, the competition will be open to both amateurs and professionals with over $50,000 in prizes up for grabs. Judges include David Anderson (Australian Idol photographer); Montalbetti & Campbell (husband and wife team – Australian photographers and multiple-time winners of the Australian Professional Photography Awards); and Darren Ryan (General Manager of Marketing for Canon).
