September 17, 2007: Canon will upgrade three popular models and add a new model to its line-up of Pixma all-in-one printers in the next few weeks.
Combining photo-quality printing with scanning and copying, the new models feature individually-replaceable ink tanks and Quick Start operation. The two leading models use Canon’s ChromaLife 100 ink, which can produce prints that ‘last a lifetime’. Top of the range is the Pixma MP970 (RRP $449), which uses seven inks, six of them for colour and a pigment black ink for sharp text printing. Equipped with a 3.5-inch TFT display, the MP970 can scan films and slides to produce digital files or make direct photo prints without a computer. Advanced features include built-in wired LAN networking.
