Canon has released details of its latest DSLR camera, the compact EOS 200D Mark II, which is scheduled for release towards the end of this month.

Designed for families looking to step-up from smartphone photography or upgrade from their existing camera the EOS 200D Mark II combines easy-to-use features with a

small and lightweight body. It boasts a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor, 4K movie capability, fast and responsive autofocusing and excellent connectivity with smart devices. Canon’s Guided Display, a user-friendly interface for easy operation, makes it easy for novice users to take great pictures from the moment the camera is switched on, with on-screen hints and tips.  Canon’s Creative Assist feature provides a suite of effects, filters and colour adjustment tools to apply to photographs when composing an image or after it has been taken.

Complementing the sensor is Canon’s DIGIC 8 image processor, which supports a improvements to the Live View autofocus precision and Eye detection AF, Auto Lighting Optimizer, Digital Lens Optimizer and Highlight Tone Priority for sharp high-resolution images. The Vari-Angle touchscreen monitor enables comfortable shooting from a variety of angles when shooting stills and video. Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi plus the free Canon Camera Connect app for iOS and Android allow easy connectivity with smart devices. Images can be sent directly to a paired smart device as soon as they are taken via the Automatic Image Transfer function to ensure they are safely backed-up. The new camera is compatible with more than 80 lenses, flashes and accessories, allowing users to expand the camera’s capabilities.
