Canon will replace the EOS 550D with a new DSLR model, the EOS 650D, towards the end of this month.
Featuring a new 18 megapixel CMOS sensor with fast, four-channel read-out and the latest DIGIC 5 image processor, the new camera is positioned between the EOS 600D and EOS 60D. It features a number of creative tools that make it easier for emerging photographers to take satisfying photographs, including:
– a new AF system with a nine-point all cross-type array for faster, more accurate autofocusing;
- enhanced movie shooting with Movie Servo AF;
- a high-resolution, vari-angle LCD monitor with touch-screen controls;
- continuous shooting at up to five frames/second;
- new shooting modes (Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control and Multi-Shot Noise Reduction) for improving picture quality in difficult shooting situations;
- seven Creative Filters for changing the appearance of images in-camera.
