August 22, 2006: September and October will see Canon release of two new digital camcorders, the DC22 DVD model and the HV10 HDV.
Claimed as the smallest and lightest HDV (hard disk video) camera on the market, the new HV10 weighs only 440 grams (body only) and measures 56 x 104 x 106 mm. Image capture is via a large 5.37 x 4.04 mm CMOS sensor with 2.9 million photosites, which was developed from Canon’s EOS still camera sensors and offers outstanding processing capabilities. Video clips are recorded in full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and still shots can be recorded simultaneously at 2-megapixel resolution.
