Canon Announces Eight New Printers

August 20, 2007: Canon will add two new single-function printers and six multi-function A4 printers to its line-up in the coming month.
New technologies being offered in the latest products include auto image fix correction controls, a ‘quick start’ setting that activates the printer within approximately two seconds, faster auto document feed scanning and copying and a new suite of advanced copying functions that include Frame Erase for removing unwanted black areas when copying book and magazine pages. Easy Scroll control wheels are provided on the new models.

Due for release in mid-September are the Pixma iP3500 and iP4500 advanced photo printers. The iP3500, which replaces the iP3300, is a 4-ink printer that has 2-way paper feed and a top resolution of 4800 dpi. The iP4500, which replaces the iP4300 and iP5300 models, offers 9600 dpi resolution, 1 picolitre ink droplets and auto duplexing. It uses five ink tanks and supports CD/DVD printing.

The MP520 All-in-One direct photo printer has a 2.0-inch TFT display, four ink tanks and Easy-Scroll-Wheel controls. It offers 4800 dpi output resolution and includes a 2400 x 4800 dpi scanner. The MP610 has a 2.5-inch TFT display, supports 9600 dpi resolution and includes a 4800 x 9600 dpi scanner. Auto duplexing and CD/DVD printing are supported.

The new MP610 All-in-One printer has a 2.5-inch display and offers high resolution printign and scanning.
The MP970, which replaces the MP810, MP600R and MP960 models, is due for release in early October. It uses seven individual inks tanks and offers 9600 dpi resolution, along with Ethernet support and film/slide scanning. The above printers are designed for photo printing and provide PictBridge direct printing support.

The MX700 is designed for general office work and includes fax support.
