Canon has released details of a new CJ20ex7.8B portable-type broadcast zoom lens, which is scheduled for release in late June, 2016.

Capable of recording high-resolution and high-impact 4K video content, the new CJ20ex7.8B lens features a 20x zoom ratio with a focal-length range from 7.8mm to 156mm. It is designed for use with 4K broadcast cameras employing 2/3-inch sensors and expands Canon’s 4K broadcast lens line-up, which also includes the CJ12ex4.3B (to be released in late February 2016).
The CJ20ex7.8B lens has a compact, lightweight body design, enabling it to be used ideal for indoor and outdoor location applications, covering situations from sporting events and news coverage, to dramas and documentaries.
