January 6, 2010: Canon will add 10 new LEGRIA Flash Memory video cameras to its line-up in April.
The new releases will include four LEGRIA Full HD, three High Definition and three Standard Definition flash memory models offering innovative technologies and features making it even easier to capture high-quality footage. The High Definition line-up includes the flagship HF S-series, the compact HF M-series and a new entry-level HF R-series, all of which include an enhanced image stabiliser system and a new HD-to-SD Down Conversion function that makes it easy to upload footage from the camera to the internet or burn it to DVDs.
The LEGRIA HF S-series and HF M-series models come with a new Touch Panel LCD with an advanced tracking that keeps moving subjects like people, pets or vehicles in focus and properly exposed. They also offer an Advanced Video Snapshot that can record 2, 4, or 8 second video clips while recording or playing back longer sequences. The Smart Auto mode takes advantage of Canon’s DIGIC DV III Image Processor to intelligently detect and analyse brightness, colour, distance and movement and automatically select the best setting for the scene. Relay Recording allows users to capture uninterrupted video when the primary recording media is full by switching automatically between the internal memory and a memory card.
