Registrations have opened for this year’s Felix Schoeller Photo Award, with competitions in five main categories for professional photographers plus two special categories.


The biennial international competition enables professional photographers and photographers in training to submit their work in the following categories:  Portrait, Landscape and Nature, Photojournalism and Editorial, Fashion and Free/Conceptual Photography.  Approximately 2,700 photographers from over 90 countries participated the last time this competition was held in 2017.

Prize money of €2,000 is awarded to each category winner, while the overall winner will receive a further prize of €10,000. Two additional prizes will be awarded: the Emerging Photographer Prize and the German Peace Prize for Photography. The winner of the Emerging Photographer Prize will receive a prize (or a financial equivalent) worth €5,000, while the German Peace Prize for Photography offers a cash prize of 10,000 euros.
