October 2, 2007: Brother International has launched two multi-function printers, offering print, scan and copy functionality at an affordable price.
Equipped with a media slot and USB Direct and PictBridge compatibility, the DCP-350c allows users to print photographs without requiring a computer; A 2.0-inch flip-up LCD is provided to help users select and adjust their pictures before printing them. Print speeds of up to 30 pages/minute for monochrome text and 25 pages/minute for colour are claimed.
The MFC-260C comes with a 10-sheet automatic document feeder that can be used for printing, scanning, copying and faxing documents. It supports A4 document printing speeds of up to 27 pages/minute for mono and 22 pages/minute for colour. A dedicated PhotoCapture Centre supports direct printing from digital cameras or memory cards, with a resolution of up to 1200 x 6000 dots/inch. Bundled Face Filter editing software allows users to adjust skin tones and remove blemishes and red-eye from shots.
Both models use Brother’s LC-57 Innobella inks, which come as a four-cartridge ink system with separate cartridges for each ink colour and a minimum droplet size of 1.5 picolitres. Both models also include a high-quality flatbed scanner that allows users to scan images and text with an interpolated resolution of 19,200×19,200 dpi. Borderless photos can also be produced with a resolution of up to 6000×1200 dpi. Scanning to PDF format is also supported. Both models will be available in Australia from October 2007 at a recommended retail price of $199. Full details are available at www.brother.com.au
