Blackmagic Design has announced the immediate availability of Camera 1.8.2 software which adds three new Apple ProRes file formats for all Blackmagic Design cameras.
The new software update adds ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT and ProRes 422 Proxy to the CinemaDNG RAW and ProRes 422 HQ formats supported by all Blackmagic Design cameras. The new formats will enable users to capture significantly smaller video file sizes to allow much longer recording durations on the same media card, all while preserving full frame 10-bit 4:2:2 quality.
The Camera 1.8.2 update is available now free of charge from the Blackmagic Design website at www.blackmagicdesign.com.
Blackmagic Design has also announced a Summer Special discount for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, which will be on sale for US$495. The discount is available for a limited time and will end on 31 August, 2014. It is available worldwide.
