The Pozible campaign aims to celebrate female photographers, who represented 52% of participants in the 2017 Ballarat International Foto Biennale. This year’s festival, which runs from 23 August to 20 October aims to present the work of French artist Noémie Goudal in the beautiful Williamson Gallery at the Art Gallery of Ballarat. Goudal is known for her ambiguous landscape images which “bring real and theoretical geographies into coexistence, creating a space between physical reality and its mental representation”. (Goudal)
There are different ways to get involved:
(1) Individuals and businesses can make a tax deductible donation (any value).
Tax deductible donations do not receive the rewards below. However, donors will be acknowledged by name or business name in the Annual Report, Foto Biennale program and social media. The first five individuals and businesses in Ballarat and Melbourne to pledge $1,000 or more will also be invited to join the curator for an exclusive preview tour when the exhibition opens.
(2) Individual photography enthusiasts or supporters of female talent can donate in exchange for the following rewards:
A voucher for a French language course with Alliance Française de Melbourne
A dinner for two at Mr Jones Dining in Ballarat
30 Free cinema tickets to see the film of your choice at Regent Cinemas Ballarat.
Note: Rewards are first in, best dressed in accordance with the reward criteria noted! Reward-based donations are not tax deductible in accordance with ATO requirements.
Funds raised will help the organisers to cover some of the timber set build (materials, fabrication, delivery) and specialty framing needed which are central to the cultivation of the artist’s desired perceptual experience. Click here for full details.
