Adobe to Discontinue Stock Photo Service

February 6, 2008: Adobe will discontinue its Adobe Stock Photo Service, effective 1 April, 2008.

The service, which allowed users of Creative Suite 2 and 3 software to purchase royalty-free images from within CS2 and CS3 applications, was designed to provide a convenient way to search image libraries. However, Adobe has elected to ‘concentrate its efforts in other areas’. Adobe Stock Photos customers and registered Creative Suite 2 and Creative Suite 3 customers with Adobe Bridge-enabled applications will receive e-mail notification starting February 4, 2008.

The service will remain fully operational until 3 March, 2008. After March 3, 2008, the search feature will be disabled. Comp images downloaded before the search feature is disabled can be purchased through Adobe Stock Photos until March 31, 2008.
