February 20, 2007: Adobe has released the latest version of its Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in, which offers support for additional cameras and improved operability with the just-released Adobe Lightroom.
In the upgrade from Camera Raw 3.6 to 3.7, support has been added for the Nikon D40 and Pentax K10D (PEF) files. Other cameras whose raw files can be opened in Camera Raw 3.7 include the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro and the latest Phase One digital backs. Lightroom interoperability allows photographers to access raw processing settings stored in Camera Raw’s sidecar files and Camera Raw to access features unique to Lightroom.
The new plug-in can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html.
