The first will take place on Saturday, 13 February between 4:00 and 7:00 pm, when documentary photographer, Aletheia Casey, will present Beachside Portraiture at Bondi Beach. Participants will learn how to use available light and to direct your subject to make your portraits more personal and affecting.
In the second tour on 27 February between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, Paul Blackmore will encourage tour participants to think formally about the beach in terms of light and composition, especially focussing on the beach body as a sculptural object. This tour is titled ‘Beach Public’.
Street photographer Markus Andersen will inspire students to see the beach with new eyes in this fun ‘Beach by Design’ tour on 19 March between 9:00 am and midday. Participants will be encouraged to approach their shots ‘with intention’ and to explores the extraordinary in the ordinary.
There will also be an additional ‘Powered by Pechakucha’ event on 12 March between 3:00 and 5:00 pm. Comprising a series of quick-fire presentations from creatives whose work is inspired by the beach, it will showcase a range of media.
