The Australian Centre for Photography will be running two courses for DSLR photographers in Western Sydney as well as a new Master class that will be held in its Paddington premises.
In partnership with the Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest, the ACP has launched an exciting venture with a ‘Back to Basics with your Digital SLR’ class, which will be held at the Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest. This intensive class covers the basic functions of the Digital SLR camera, enabling photographers to understand the basics and brush up their camera skills. Key aspects of photography will be covered, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO and how lenses can be used to create better photographs. Classes will be held on Sunday 25 November and Sunday 2 December between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Penrith Regional Gallery. The fee for each class is $180. For details, visit Back to Basics with your Digital SLR.
The Master class in Reportage and the art of Photojournalism will be held on Saturday, 1 December at the Australian Centre for Photography in Oxford Street, Paddington. Featuring Kenyan based Reuters photojournalist, Thomas Mukoya, it will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a fee of $495. Participants will learn what is required of a photojournalist, not just in the field but also when it comes to having work published and how to get their work known. Thomas will also share his own work and experience as a photojournalist in conflict and crisis areas. This Master Class is being run in partnership with Australia for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
