ACD Systems has announced plans to release a public beta version of its new ACDSee Pro 2.0 editing software in the second quarter of 2007, in advance of the launch of the full application later in the year.

 

March 13, 2007: ACD Systems has announced plans to release a public beta version of its new ACDSee Pro 2.0 editing software in the second quarter of 2007, in advance of the launch of the full application later in the year.
The company is looking for feedback from photographers who download the beta program in order to improve the finished application. ACDSee Pro 2.0 will be compatible with Windows Vista and include some substantial improvements in raw file support plus a variety of new and useful functions. Users will be able to:
– view raw files faster;
– obtain improved image quality and detail through better Demosaicing facilities;
– copy raw settings to multiple images;
– crop and rotate raw images and save them to multiple formats.
New batch editing facilities can be applied to shadows and highlights in shots and time stamp shifting is now included. Extended browsing capabilities include auto categories, filter by, group by, private folders and an events calendar view. ACDSee Pro 2.0 also includes a channel mixer, PowerPoint presentation wizard and an extended range of print layouts.
