September 29, 2004: A new software application that allows photographers to use any digital camera to generate realistic 3D images has been unveiled at Photokina 2004.
HumanEyes Capture3D is a simple and automated application that allows photographers to shoot as they would normally but produce 3D pictures for multiple uses – from packaging to backlit display and wide format, commercial signs. A version of the software has been optimised for Sharp 3D monitors and laptop displays. The application places no limits on picture width; photographers can create 3D landscapes up to a 360 degree panorama. It also supports cut and paste compositions that allow users to retain the 3D nature of each item and will allow 2D and 3D images to be combined in a single image. Other features include guided optimization of 3D scenes, A4 image proofing, automatic parallax and convergence point controls and the ability to work with TIFF, JPEG and AVI files.
Photographers can download a full functioning, 30-day trial version of HumanEyes Capture3D at www.humaneyes.com. When the trial is over, HumanEyes Capture3D can be purchased directly from www.humaneyes.com. Photographers’ print or agency partners who purchase full production versions of HumanEyes 3D software can share their free HumanEyes Capture3D software bundle with the photographer.
