Landscape photographer Tony Hewitt is the Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photographer of the Year for 2013.

Some of Australia’s most recognised photographers judged the awards over three days at the industry’s annual Digital Show. Each of the thousands of images entered was critiqued in detail by the judging panel.

“The Canon AIPP APPAs are the most sought-after accolade in Australian professional photography and the standard rises each year due to the fierce competition,” said Taz Nakamasu, Managing Director, Canon Australia.

Now in their 37th year, the Canon AIPP APPAs has a prize pool of more than $40,000 in cash and prizes.

In addition to the Professional Photographer of the Year award, Tony’s portfolio won the Landscape Photographer of the Year award. His prize included $20,000 in Canon EOS professional photography equipment.

Over this and the next two issues of Photo Review mag app we will be publishing the images of all winners and finalists of the awards.
