The idea of the Summer Postcard challenge was for photographers to create imagery that would in some way capture the feeling of summer – in a postcardy sort of way.

And, as always, a hardy band of Photo Challengers responded by submitting a diverse but eminently summeresque collection of suitable pictures.

We are pleased to announce that one of our most consistently creative contributors, Zorica Purlija, will receive a Kata Bumblebee 222 UL Black photo bag (RRP$450) for her untitled image of two kids playing in the sand on a late and lazy summer afternoon. The judges also awarded Zorica an honourable mention for her untitled study of a towelwrapped and pensive young subject under a cloudy sky. (Must have been this summer in Sydney!)

Our first runner up was Roz Krugle’s ‘Swing’n good time’ which we liked for its balance and use of the silhouette technique. ‘Lazing about with a mate’ by Amanda Bull caught our eye because we could so easily imagine it as one of those whimsical postcards you see in a little country town newsagency.
