Back in Issue 66 we challenged photographers to ‘think inside the square’. We asked for images to be cropped to a square aspect ratio – and to include something square.
Frequent contributor Andy Parkee really kicked the winning goal with his square-rich soccer net study, but first runner-up Bob Todd wasn’t too far off the pace either. Andy has won a versatile, comfortable Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW camera bag.
Robert Zappia was in an industrial mood this time around and the ever reliable Susan Shanta (whom we profiled last issue) managed to make us smile again with her windows scrubbing virus cleaners.
Both Andy Parkee and Bob Todd picked up honourable mentions as well, the former for a well spotted aging fencepost and the latter for a still life with nectarines.
WINNER
Untitled by Andy Parkee
A square on a flag, seen through a net made of squares, seen through square-ish fence wire.
FIRST RUNNER-UP
Almost out of the Square by Bob Todd
A Passionfruit flower has almost escaped the confines of the square trellis on which it was grown. Unfortunately the Possums got it next night so I couldn’t go back for another try.
SECOND RUNNER-UP
Industrial 2 by Robert Zappia
HONOURABLE MENTION
Nectarines in Blue Bowl by Bob Todd
