As noted in other image reviews of similarly famous locations, capturing an interesting picture in a heavily photographed place such as Venice is no small challenge.
Robin Yong has, I think, managed to give us a picture of some originality. And when you’re talking Gondola’s in Venice, that’s not faint praise.
I like the way the Gondolas create a layer beyond which we glimpse the distant city. That they also create converging leading lines is also a real plus.
The glowing lamp, perfectly exposed, is a delicate grace note too.
