By John Porter.
I hopped on this model train carriage behind my two grandkids hoping I might get a shot in. When I saw the cutting coming up and a bend in the line, I took a few images to try to capture their excitement on their first model train ride and, of course, the movement of the train through the cutting.

John’s over-the-shoulder shot of his grandkids could so easily have been entirely ordinary, but this picture has a lively sense of speed thanks to the dynamic composition. He really forces the perspective by having the boys filling the left margin of the frame. The direction of their faces and the hunched-forward position of the driver, together with the speed-blurred cutting right, all lead our eye toward the vanishing point in a most satisfying way.
