In Aksu in western China the evening peak period was happening. In the middle of this traffic signal-controlled cross road, this police officer stood rigidly still during each phase, turning 90 degrees between phases.
The authorities were kind enough to build a ring of pedestrian bridges around the intersection, with hand rails perfectly designed to rest a camera on.
Don’s response
A simple but eloquent image from Rob Morgan.
Although it has something of a ‘miniature’ look, the effect arises more from the size and perfectly still posture of the traffic policeman and the contrast of the blurred vehicles whizzing past.
Well seen and perfectly executed.
