There is something quite balletic in the three boys dashing across the rain slick street — particularly the young chap with the umbrella.
The monochromatic rendering, as so often is the case, gives the image a timeless quality which the boys’ indeterminate era clothing subconsciously reinforces.
You can almost hear their shouts and squelching shoes as they dash past. Wonderful.
