A photograph doesn’t always have to be sharp to work.  

I think Bevellee Bryceson’s petals succeeds precisely because it isn’t sharp. The out of focus forms in the background have an interesting ambiguity that is subtly resolved by the single, almost in-focus leaf tip in the foreground.

Delicate and subtle and quietly pretty.
