Taken at the Flinders Ranges during a road trip with my father that we’d been planning for 18 months. We encountered a dust storm earlier in the day but thankfully we were presented with an amazing sunset.

Don’s response

Ah, magic hour. The warm light softly illuminating the red hills in the foreground and warming the peaks behind them gives Trace O’Rourke’s image a peaceful quality. I like how it also lights up the bushes near the curve in the road too.

This is the sort of picture most of us stumble upon rather than anticipate. Trace has done the scene justice, but I wonder if 10-15 minutes earlier, the light might have picked out the bushes in the foreground too.
