The warmer weather returned and so did the insects. This pair were wasting no time in generating the next generation.

On their own, the two flies (?) mating is a mildly interesting picture. The creatures are nicely centred in the plane of focus and they’re well lit too.
But the killer element for me is their shadow on the leaf in the background. This creates an extra visual tension that makes the image more interesting and dynamic.
