Tasmania is a paradise of trekking and beautiful sights. Lake St Claire is one of its jewels, and we could not miss it.
All day the weather was foggy, and we thought we would never get a chance to see the lake or its elusive habitants; platypuses. But sunset presented a wonderful opportunity to see the lake in a misty golden fog. It was just incredible.
Don’s response
Natasha’s picture is a lovely example of patience being rewarded.
The lighting effect is quite extraordinary. It looks as though a filter has been applied in post-production, but having experienced similar golden fog conditions myself, I know that magic can happen.
The tree perched on the end of that sandspit, looking like some unearthly creature about to spring into the water is almost as serendipitous as the beautiful light.
