It’s in the nature of grab shots such as this one that the photographer has only a moment to compose before the opportunity disappears.

What’s interesting about Pete Heininger’s picture is that it has a very still, quiet quality, despite being taken from a train in motion.

There is a nice muted quality to the light, and I particularly like the way the central subject sort of nestles into the dark forested landscape.
