Ray Baker’s composite image plainly seeks to be mysterious. It is a carefully and professionally crafted piece of work in every respect. The composition is bold, the colour palette attractively muted and the compositing is of a very high standard.
I can’t pretend to know what exactly the point of the illustration is (something or someone being freed?), but it nevertheless has an intriguing ambiguity and I can easily imagine it being useful in various editorial or even commercial contexts. A first rate portfolio piece.
