Fog on the Pond, by David Edwards

Olympus OM-D E-M5; 12-50mm lens

When I heard the forecast for fog in the area I headed for the local wetlands.

It was a ‘pea souper’, very atmospheric. I would have preferred the ducks closer, but they wouldn’t co-operate.

Don’s response

I agree with photographer David Edwards about the ducks. It would’ve been nice if they were more prominent, but then again, this isn’t a photograph of ducks, it’s a photograph of the mood created by the foggy conditions. And on that front it works pretty well.

I like the detailed elements in the foreground and the way the eye follows a gentle arc along the shoreline to the trees upper right, and then from there to the ghostly vanishing point of the far distance.
