As so often is the case, what transforms an interesting picture into a good image is the inclusion of an intriguing detail.
David Trembath’s composition is strong to begin with, but it rises to another level thanks to the figures in the bottom right corner.
I agree with David that one of the attractive features of this picture is its not-quite monochrome look and, indeed, that tiny spot of red is just the right grace note for the composition.
