Don’s response
Sydney’s Dee Why point is popular with both surfers and surf photographers. The former like it for the intense barrelling section that breaks just in front of the rocks, and the latter love all the different photographic angles on offer — including the one where the surfer is standing.
I think John’s perspective, timing and his choice of a panoramic aspect ratio work rather well. I wish he’d corrected that wonky horizon though.
