Taken at the 2018 Dark MOFO Midwinter Festival in Hobart, this is one of a pair of images of the controversial upside-down cross.
Although photographer Glenn Schulte prefers his monochrome picture of this striking MOFO artwork, I think this image works in part because it has a hellish red cast.
The angle of the golden cross gives it a vigour and drama reminiscent of expressionist films from the 1920s and 30s.
